Design a selling box

Have students design their own selling box for bandannas.  Discuss with the students what important features the box will need to have (e.g. CanTeen name clearly displayed, National Bandanna Day sign, be colourful and attractive).  The students' box will be required to hold 10 pens, 25 bandannas and has to be smaller enough to fit on shopping centre counters.

Promotion Video

Have students create their own video promoting National Bandanna Day or CanTeen.

How do you wear your bandanna?

Have students create a poster about how they will wear their bandanna this National Bandanna Day.

Maths - How many bandannas?

Have students use bandannas to investigate the area of different objects.  The dimensions of a bandanna equals 56cm x 56cm.  Students could discover:  How many bandannas it would take to cover a classroom table? How many bandannas are need to cover the school basketball court?

Maths - What could you buy?

National Bandanna Day is CanTeen's main fundraising events.  Have students explore the number of bandannas and pens needed to be sold to fund a CanTeen weekend camp.  Students could also create their own National Bandanna Day store to allow them to practise adding prices and giving change.  The attached fact file provides information about the importance of bandanna sales to CanTeen Members.
