School Event Ideas

School events are a fun and interactive way for students to engage with National Bandanna Day. School events involve offering students a unique opportunity to be involved. Events can vary from the creation of a special morning to offering a colouring competition.
Fashion Parade
A school fashion parade could be a special event for a school or the highlight of a school assembly. There are numerous ways for students to be involved:
- Have students dress up as their favourite bandanna character e.g. robot, alien, fireworks, butterfly, army.
- Have students be creative and think of a new way to wear their bandanna e.g. sling, cowboy, neck tie, scarf, cape. (It is amazing how creative some students can be!)
- Have students create their own outfit from bandannas.
Design Your Own Bandanna Competition
During the month of October, have students create their own bandanna design. Have a centrally located box for students to place their bandanna design into or display them on a wall.
What Can You Do With A Bandanna?
Encourage students to be creative and consider what else a bandanna could be used for or what could be created from a bandanna e.g. tea towel, wrapping paper, jewellery. Students can create a poster explaining their idea or make their design. The students' posters are able to be displayed on a wall to promote the day.
Head Shaving
The selection of a bandanna to promote CanTeen is a significant choice for hair loss is a common side effect of cancer treatments. Some students may like to create additional fundraising by shaving their own head.
